From school marquee boards to outdoor church signs, signs placed throughout our world bear a great deal of importance, as it is these signs, more often than not, that provide the information that we need. Outdoor LED school signs and school marquee signs are a great example of just his, as school marquee signs are ideal for conveying crucial information to the community, particularly to the students who attend their school (and, of course, their parents). With the use of school marquee signs, everything from high achieving students to winning school sports teams can be celebrated, and crucial information like start and end dates, days off of school, and the dates of school functions can be displayed for all to see.
But aside from signs like school marquee boards and church signs (conveying everything from inspirational messages to the times of church services), signs for the use of advertising and marketing purposes are also quite prevalent in our world. In fact, this is likely the most prevalent type of sign that there is. After all, we’ve all seen billboards. In fact, many of us drive past them on a day to day basis, as such roads that sport billboard in plenty make up the average path of our daily commutes here in the United States, where so many people rely on their cars to get to work and back home again (as well as for any number of day to day tasks).
And billboards have been found to be hugely effective, with more than 70% of people (around 71% of them, to be just a little bit more exact) actually paying pretty close attention to the billboards that they drive past. As more than 65% of all people make their shopping decisions while driving in their car (on their way to shop) and not further ahead of time, it’s no surprise that the advertisements that are displayed on billboard signs are quite influential in the greater scheme of consumerism in the United States. In fact, more than 30% of people who see a billboard of interest will visit whoever the billboard was advertising, most likely a retail store, within the span of time of just seven days – and perhaps even more quickly than that.
In addition to advertising retail stores, billboards have also been very successful in advertising events and experiences as well. In fact, the data that has been gathered on the subject more than backs this up, showing that up to 58% of adults in the United States have gone to an event that they first ever learned about because of a billboard. And the exact same population of adults in this country have also visited a restaurant directly because of a billboard advertisement. The prevalence of billboards and the advertisements that they carry throughout our world have led to many a great experience on the behalf of many different people here in the United States alone, let alone elsewhere in the world.
But it’s not just off site signage that makes a difference. On site signage matters too, important and influential enough that having on site signage at any given retail location can be equated to taking out up to 24 full page ads in any given newspaper over the course of just one single year. And while some people might think that the need for on site signage is less than what it once was thanks to the increase in e-commerce and accessible online shopping, this is actually far from the case. In fact, nearly 95% of all consumers and potential customers here in the United States alone will choose to make their final purchases in a brick and mortar location.
And on site signage can vary quite considerably, just as much as outdoor signage (from school marquee sings to signage for businesses) can. From window decals to sign stands to even just elaborate and well designed price tags, there are many ways that on site signage can play a crucial role in the sales of any given store. Even full priced items can be boosted in sales by as much as 20% in total thanks to signage.
