Let’s start with what a staffing agency is. A staffing agency or employment agency is a business organization that hires employees to work for other companies.
When a company needs to increase their workforce, either temporarily or in the long-term, they’ll reach out to a staffing agency for help.
There are three main types of jobs when working with a staffing agency.
- Temporary jobs. These are most commonly associated with staffing agencies. These employees work for the agency’s client on a short term basis. It could be weeks or months depending on the position.
- Remp-to hire jobs. These employees work for the agency’s client on a trial basis to determine if you and the client are a good match. If it is a good match for your skills, interests, and career goals, you can become a permanent employee.
- Direct hire jobs. These employees are recruited by the staffing agency and hired directly by their client. The staffing company acts as the company’s personal recruiter in this case.
