Fire Watch Safety Tips

If you’re interested in becoming part of a fire watch team, then it’s important to make sure you’re up to date on all of the most important safety standards in the industry you’re working in. In most cases, fire watch personnel will be working with welders or other manufacturing workers. Here are a few important safety tips you should know if you want to joing a fire watch team.

First and foremost, fire watch teams are responsible for upholding fire safety standards in the business where they’re working. This means that if a worker is unknowingly causing a fire hazard, it’s the responsibility of the fire watch staff member on duty to intervene.

In a welding situation, a fire hazard may be caused when a welder is producing too many sparks as a result of their work. It’s the fire watch’s job to stop the welder and put more fire safeguards in place around them to protect the building and everyone in it.
